Our position on the map below will update once a day (when we are able to access internet)
Geoff and Andy carry a SPOT GPS device which will update their position on the map via the link below every 30 mins or so. The track will record progress over the previous 7 days.
It was such an exciting and highly emotional experience this morning being on hand to see the lads start their new venture – we wish them all the luck, safe paddling and lots of dosh made for the wonderful charities they represent. Photos will be posted shortly – and we look forward to the updates as and when they are available !
Early start then….

It looks like your spot doesn’t work:-(
Fell asleep with the radio on & woke to the sound of the Shipping Forecast for Cape Wrath – how appropriate! “Wind Northwest 4 or 5, becoming variable 3 or less later. Sea State Slight, occasionally moderate at first. Weather Occasional rain at first, becoming fair. Visibility Good, occasionally moderate at first.” Hope it’s what you wanted Andy – thinking of you and Geoff today. You’ll soon be on your way home, xxx

Great to meet you on the slipway at Staithes today! Didn’t realise what an amazing adventure you were up to until we looked at the website. Thought we’d done well paddling from Runswick Bay to Staithes and back as 50+ weekend kayakers, but full of admiration for you! Especially as you went around the north of Scotland and not along the Caledonian Canal. Will follow the rest of your trip, with envy, wishing you the very best of luck, good weather, and calm seas and winds.! Anne & Graham : )
Good to meet you too Anne. Glad you made it back safely. The wind was pretty strong heading south.
Andy
Guess you’ll be heading for Bridlington if you can today. Enjoy bird spotting under Bempton cliffs. You should see lots of kittiwakes, razorbills, guillemots, some puffins and lots of gannets. Hope they’ll be diving to feed in the sea around you. A beautiful stop before you face the tough trek around Flamborough Head is North Landing, our favourite launch point. A gorgeous sandy cove, with a cafe at the top of a steep climb (good exercise for the underused legs) and a wonderful view. Hope the conditions are good for you and the sun shines. Good luck guys!
Great to see your photos at Cullercoats. I lived there until I was 3 and still live 1 mile away. Sorry we couldn’t be there to see you last week. When you’re home and dry check out the paintings by Winslow Homer, the American artist who lived in Cullercoats in 1880 and produced some great paintings of Fisher folk.
Hi Joe, will do!
Tracked you to Mablethorpe last night found your kayaks at RNLI, had a quick look round but no sight of you. It will probably be Norfolk coast on Sat. evening. You are doing really well. Well done.
Hi Andy – spoke to Sylvia this morning who was asking after her ‘washboard boy’. She sends her love and is keen to visit in the Winter. xx
You’re on your way home! xx
Blimey. We’d better get down to the South Coast then! Congratulations on your progress, gents, hope to see you soon!
Hi Neil
You better had. Aiming for Sussex weekend. Southampton early next week….
Hope you and Angela are well!
Andy x
If you need accomodation at or nr Brixham let me know.
Hi there. That’s really good of you but I think we’re sorted!
Cheers
Andy
Can’t believe I’m saying this, but, see you guys next week! xx
I just may have to pospone my long weekend away – don’t want to miss what will be an amazing home coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Mary Alice. Strong winds are forecast so likely now we’ll not be back till Tuesday so don’t postpone your weekend away! X
Hurry up days – fly by! I want to see my Andy! xx
I should go on holiday more often… amazing progress in the last two weeks…. this last ‘lap’ might feel hard, but your almost there….
Be like a Duck, calm on Top, paddle like ………… Below.
You’re welcome to have bed and board at Burton Bradstock if you pass this way. Its not looking good for a few days – very windy again. Barbara and Ian. 07980 529017.
Hi Barbara, that’s so generous of you thank you. We’re held up at Lulworth Cove at the moment because of the wind. I suspect we’ll be ok for accommodation once we’re under way but will let you know if we change our mind!
Andy and Geoff
Too late Andy – already cancelled it but never mind ……… lots to do to keep busy until this exciting and historic return ! 🙂 xoxo
Don’t forget if I can be of help at Brixham you can have use of my motorhome for a night with cooker, shower, hot water double and single bed. I did the same for Joe Leach. I might even paddle out to see you with a lucozade or two.
Nice to meet you guys. Good luck with the rest of the trip. Amazing stuff! James (the chef that cooked your pies!)
Good to meet you and your other half too James! Great steak pie by the way thank you!
Must feel strange getting so near the end… no doubt you are thinking of what might be next!
Whatever, the people you have met, the things you have seen, the emotions you have shared and the challenges you have faced build together into a journey that has touched more lives than your own.
An amazing adventure and an amazing commitment.
We paddled to meet you just north of Torquay Sunday eve 6:45 with some Bottles of Lucozade and £28 sponsorship but found you’d stopped just south of Teignmouth. Monday we looked at tracker as it looked as though you were in Brixham Harbour so Sarah rode down on her scooter to give you the items but no sign. Later the tracker indicated you off Dartmouth.
Good luck
Hi Martian. So sorry we missed you yesterday. Would have been great to meet up. Afraid the tracker is not the most timely update on our position sadly.
Thank you so much for going to all that trouble.
Andy and Geoff
Martian and Sarah – not sure you’ll see my message, but in case you do – when I looked on the tracker yesterday for Andy and Geoff they were in Africa!!!!
Yes I think the accuracy of the tracker is not too good inc the time.
it would have been nice to have helped a little.
our last post
