After an eventful couple of days crossing the Thames Estuary we’re in Deal. Tomorrow morning we’ll be turning right for the last time and start the home straight. Just 350 miles to go!
These photos show what the south coast is all about for us. Relaxed paddling, cafe stops and more cafe stops. For some strange reason we feel more comfortable sitting outside. We have gotten used to people looking at us funny.
I should think the cafe/restaurant owners are relieved that you sit outside rather
than having a pair of smelly hairy tramps inside . You are making great progress is your ETA still about 21/22nd of august? Dad.
No wonder we always get a seat in the bars. No one wants to sit near us! Yep ETA between 19/22 August. Weather dependent of course. X
Hi guys
Good to talk to you the other night at your stop over at Foulness Bridge
How was your trip across the Thames Estuary – did you take the shortest route across to the Isle of Sheppey or go direct to Margate.
Lots of shipping to deal with i guess
Hi Phil
Good to meet you. We headed to Herne Bay in the end. About 19 miles. Stopped off on the way to see the WW2 gun emplacements too. Good to be on the south coast now!
Andy and Geoff
Well done you two! It was so long ago that you left, where is the finishing post?
Looking forward to catching up with you Geoff and hearing all the stories.
